You have to learn where power lies before you can build power.

We put a lot of emphasis in organizing your workplace, and for good reason. Without a union, your power as a worker is limited. But, what do you do once you are in a union? Our panel of union members and staff will talk about how make change in your union and answer your questions about how to make your union work for you – and how to build a better entertainment industry.

Our featured panelists include:

Pam Ng is a SoCal native with a deep love for the progressive AAPI community in Los Angeles. As a former National Organizer at SAG-AFTRA, she worked on multiple nationwide campaigns in various voiceover industries, background, and broadcast.
Mark Ramos has over a decade of classroom experience teaching social studies in the Belmont Area and in Northeast LA. Mark was a RIFed teacher for 3 years and has dedicated his time to organizing for the rights of UTLA teachers. Before becoming a teacher, he was a union organizer in healthcare unions and has also spent the last 17 years organizing in the Filipino/Filipino-American community.
Adam West (they/he) is a labor leader and union representative for IATSE Local 705 in Hollywood, having worked for over a decade to improve transparency, engagement, and communication within their union. They are a Two-Spirit from the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, and an advocate for progressivism, queer equality and Native issues.
