DSA-LA uses Robert’s Rules of Order to help make meetings and decision-making flow smoothly, while being as accessible as possible! Want to make sure you’ll know what’s going on during our upcoming chapter meeting? Attend this event!

Rules of order can sound intimidating! The truth is, most of us don’t ever get to participate in truly democratic spaces in our daily lives, so learning how to participate in democracy in real time is a skill that needs to be learned. The good news is that it’s not too difficult to pick up the basics!

This event will have 2 parts – you can join for either or both.

• 6:00-6:45 – Participating in a meeting
• 6:45-7:30 – Leading a meeting

In the first part, all members can learn some basic terminology and experience a live demo of how Rules of Order can be used to make a group decision.

In the second part, we will go more in depth and look at meetings from the perspective of a chair; learning how to keep things running smoothly.
