Hugo Soto-Martínez’s candidacy is an incredible opportunity to elect a longtime socialist union organizer and core chapter member; to activate hundreds of our members in a diverse, renter-heavy district; and to keep building coalitions with labor and broad social justice campaigns across Los Angeles. On Sunday April 24th, the Immigration Justice Committee and Non-Profit Workers Circle are putting their efforts together to co-sponsor a canvass!
We’ll be meeting in Elysian park at 4:00! If you’ve never canvassed before: we will provide you with a thorough training, pair you up with someone experienced/confident, and make sure you are comfortable going out. Don’t worry — we got you!
After the canvass we will head over to a local restaurant for some food and drinks, and to enjoy eachother’s company!
You will need:
a fully charged smartphone
water, a hat (optional, but a good idea)
a mask — N95, KN95, KF94 strongly preferred!
a tote bag/backpack (optional, useful!)
COVID Protocol:
If you are feeling sick or exhibiting any of the known symptoms of COVID-19 and its variants, please stay at home and rest!
If you have not been vaxxed and boosted, please do so if you can. All our staff are fully vaxxed + boosted. Canvassers should wear a mask during training and canvassing. For maximum protection, please wear a high quality mask — N95, KN95, KF94 are strongly advised. The campaign will try its best to provide these masks to you when possible, but if you are able to bring your own, please do so.
