Second Saturday’s are for Socialist Branch meetings! This month, we’ll be talking about the nomination and election process to become the Central Branch Representative to DSA-LA’s Socialists in Office committee. If you are interested in taking on this role and helping align strategies between DSA-LA and our elected officials, fill out this interest form.

We’ll also be recapping our ongoing campaigns, with a special focus on our Tenant Power campaign, as it’s likely that the City Council moves to rewrite LA’s rent control laws for the first time in 39 years. Members are encouraged to read the Jacobin article “Why We Need Rent Control” before the meeting, as we’ll be playing “Rent Control Jeopardy” and doing a small action to mobilize members in key city council districts.

We’ll have sparkling waters, snacks, shade and comradeship. This is a child and pet friendly space, and after the meeting we’ll have time for socializing.
