DSA-LA is proud to endorse Ysabel Jurado, a tenants rights lawyer running for to represent Los Angeles City Council District 14. Born and raised in Highland Park, she’s spent her career fighting to protect her community and the people who live in it.

When Hollywood went on strike last year, Ysabel was a constant presence on the picket lines, showing up with solidarity and making Snackpack deliveries. She showed up for Hollywood workers, so now’s our time to show up for her! Come join us in Eagle Rock on February 11th as we host a canvass to talk to voters. After we’re done knocking doors, we’ll all get together to grab food and drinks to talk about the entertainment industry, do some gossip, and get to know each other.

We know knocking on doors might be something you’ve never done before. It can seem scary! But if you can march on a 100º picket line, knocking on doors is nothing. Plus, our veteran leaders will train you how to canvass, how to talk to voters, and help match you with an experienced volunteer who will be with you every step of the way.

You do not need to be a worker in Hollywood to join! Everybody’s welcome, but we want to show that local entertainment workers are fired up about this election.
