Join the Mutual Aid Committee in a discussion of our Give Red project proposal. As proposed, this project has two aims: to provide regular blood donations that save countless lives across our city, and to build strategic coalitions and partnerships to put pressure on institutions to get rid of the FDA’s arbitrary and homophobic and transphobic blood donation restrictions. But to do any of this, we need your help! At this meeting, we will be discussing concretely what the next steps for this project are to take it in the direction that we want, in order to present it to the Mutual Aid Committee (and beyond!) at the next committee meeting, where we will be voting on whether or not to approve the project.
This project is in its very early stages, and every aspect of it is up for discussion. We will be trying to reach consensus on the shape of this project to propose for official committee support. Input from all comrades is beyond welcome — it’s critical!

Please read through the current project proposal before attending this meeting. That will help save us time at this meeting, so that we can focus talking on what we want the proposal to be, instead of what it already is. You can see the current proposal here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1atHwtb_sfMPp9pdoEyuiGpzzET9u3VvOCJAkItHF4Fk/edit

If you are interested in donating blood with the Mutual Aid Committee’s next Give Red drive at Children’s Hospital LA on the morning of Saturday, June 26, please email [email protected] ASAP. If necessary, we will also work to accommodate carpooling to the best of our ability.
