As part of DSA-LA’s priority resolution on housing, we will be canvassing the buildings of a large corporate owner in Koreatown circulating a petition to Councilmember Heather Hutt (CD10). Come participate in the struggle against the slumlord K3 Holdings, which is filing evictions and threatening scores more in the rent-controlled buildings it has purchased during the pandemic.

Since January, staff of CD10 have twice met with tenants of these buildings to hear their complaints about the owner. In partnership with CD13, organized tenants have requested Heather Hutt issue a letter to the corporation reminding it of its obligations under the law. Such a letter will be useful for any tenants who end up in court, as the corporation has made repeated threats to file evictions across its portfolio in May and June. However, Heather Hutt’s office continues to delay in releasing this letter. Our canvass will build support for this campaign to demonstrate community support to Heather Hutt’s office for her to release this letter.
