CALLING ALL MEMBERS! Join us for a DSA-LA’s biggest meeting of the year: our annual Convention. It’s set for Saturday, April 20. We are lucky to be hosted by our coalition partner in labor, United Auto Workers Region 6. Thanks, UAW!

Convention is the most important DSA-LA meeting of the year, and it typically draws 200 or more members. We vote on our priorities for the next 12 months, hear speeches from elected officials and union leaders, and let our hair down at the social afterward :). At last year’s Convention we voted to focus on renters’ rights and free fare on public transit. The deadline to submit new campaign ideas for consideration by membership has passed, but Convention is a deliberative, democratic, all-member meeting! Members of all experience levels are encouraged to engage in critical discussion together as we set our priorities for the coming year.
We will be considering four priority resolutions and six by-laws updates. You can see those here. See this page for an overview of the process that those submissions went through.
👶👶 DSA-LA will be offering childcare to members on-site at UAW. Please indicate on this sign-up form if you’re interested in bringing your kiddos!
🚌🚌 The chapter is also making arrangements for bus travel to and from UAW, with pick-up spots in East LA and North Hollywood. You can also volunteer a spot in your car to carpool, and request a spot in a comrade’s car. More info on this form.
