Workers in Los Angeles’ thriving tourism industry are struggling to put food on the table and keep a roof over their heads because their low wages aren’t keeping up with the skyrocketing cost of living in the region. Although these workers are the backbone of a major economic engine, they can’t afford to live where they work and are struggling just to make ends meet. Meanwhile, the hotel and airline industries have built back with billions of dollars in public investment and pandemic relief funds, leaving their workers behind.
